Note - This post is picture heavy, don't use if you have lousy internet speeds.

It was Sara and I's anniversary on the 21st of October so I planned a cheeky trip for the 2 of us to venture around Tasmania for 5 days. We left Melbourne on the 17th of October and didn't come back until the 22nd. It was really refreshing getting away from the busy hustle & bustle that is Melbourne.

Sara had no idea where we were staying. She had an idea because I suck at surprises so I kind of let her in on what I was kind of planning BUT she had no idea what we would be doing nor what I had planned for the overall trip. To be honest, I wanted nothing more than for her to relax & to just take it easy for once.

There is this huge misconception in the lesbian world that the more androgynous looking female is meant to take on the role of the "male" so that means that they should provide, be the romantic & essentially be more of the giver. Pfft. No thanks. I love to give just as much as I take, so you could say that Sara & I are very much equal - on all levels.

We stayed in South Hobart at a studio apartment called the Rivulet Studio, it was literally surrounded by mountains but was only a 5 minute drive into Hobart CBD. The house was so beautiful, if Sara & I had the money to buy a house/apartment we would probably own something very similar. This apartment in particular used to be an old printmaking studio that the owners converted into what you see in the photos. The owners themselves were also creatives & Nic's work was hanging throughout.

There was so much to do, so much to see & so much to eat in Tasmania. We got lost nearly every day, turning down random roads & ending up in different areas. We visited MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) and it was everything we expected. We took a day trip up to Launceston which was a 2.5 hour drive out of Hobart and also traveled down south to see the edge of Tasmania. There is something about being near that much water & not being able to see anything urban or industrial near you that makes you realize how small you actually are in comparison to the world.

Overall we both had a lovely time & Tasmania is definitely worth a visit if you have the time to go.
One word of advice, don't expect much from the coffee.

Faded

So I'm staring out of the window at work (I have the best view of Melbourne city fyi) and it's proving how bad I am when it comes to priorities.  Instead of sitting at my desk and doing the profit/loss reports my boss has asked me for, I've decided I would much prefer the excitement of writing a proper post that involves some kind of pictures. Bloggers love pictures. Ha.

Anyway.

For all those who may stumble across this blog, I thought that it might be a nice idea to put a face to some of the names that will pop up throughout future posts. You know, just so you're aware.
This does mean though that if you see either my partner S or I, that you have to say hello.
Sucked in babes.

Firstly, this is me.

I like to think that I'm a mix between two extremes when it comes to how I look to the outside world.
Some days I'll be the girliest girl (is that even a word) you'll ever meet, in my fitted dress & heels but then there are days where I prefer to walk around with a naked face & a fitted shirt, jeans & my trusty converse sneakers. I'm still trying to find a single word that describes ME in a world that likes to stereotype everything.

Secondly, this is Sara.

I could write all the cheesiest, lovey dovey bullshit there is to write about her for you to read but what would be the point really. She knows exactly how I feel about her, what she means to me & that's enough in my books. I will say though, that if you ever happen to cross paths with this woman, be sure to try and be-friend her because it's a shame for those who don't know her. She's basically one of those people that touches you & all of a sudden positive/exciting things appear.

Then, we have Humphrey.

The furrbaby of our little family.
I think if he was born human, he would be a male model for some fashion God or something. Probably making mass amounts of money off his looks & features. He could pay his own way through school basically. (Note to self; aim for a child that has blue eyes, fair skin & dark hair.)
Hate to say it but I'm being a stereotypical lesbian by bragging about my cat like he's people. Haha.

The thing with my blogs, journals etc .. They are very messy, all the time.
I jump from one topic to the next in a matter of minutes. My posts never really flow & they rarely have a deep & meaningful purpose, but I enjoy them. I only hope that if you're reading this that you're enjoying it too and if not, I'm sorry that I'm not actually sorry.

S and I walk to work most days, sometimes if we are running late we tend to catch the train. Anyway, she lives on one of the WORST hills ever in Melbourne know as Cunt Punt Road. If you're from Melbourne you'll understand but basically it's an absolute nightmare to walk up, simply because the incline is ridiculous. Whenever I'm walking up it, I literally feel like I'm climbing Mt Everest (minus the snow) or something crazy like that.
BUT the perks of living near this road is that the side streets are quite pretty & lez be honest, being able to look at pretty things while you commute to & from work makes it go a lot faster in my opinion.

Caroline Street - South Yarra

If you have ever heard of the show "The Block" - they are currently filming the next competition on this street. Sara and I weren't lucky enough to see any of the members though.

Did you notice in my introduction post how I mentioned that I love food (did you also notice how I jumped from one thing to the other haha). Get ready for a teaser of some food porn. Bibs on the ready.

Seafood soba noodles, eaten at my desk because I'm a workaholic.

It was really yummy but unfortunately like all Asian places who serve up seafood, there is never enough seafood. 2  prawns, 1 scallop and a couple squid pieces isn't seafood noodles, Kaaoli Sushi.

Poached eggs w/ smashed avocado & truffle oil on multigrain bread. Orange & carrot juice. Skinny flat white feat. S's sunglasses.

There is a cafe near where we work, it's called Piccolo Expresso & I swear this place fuels our energy on any given day of the week. If you're in Melbourne & or visiting and want a cool, chill place to eat/drink & stare at some pretty people, then go suss it out. I'm sure you can find them on Google.

Now, the juice in the above picture isn't from Piccolo, but it's from a little fruit market on Chapel St called Juice on Chapel. Unique no? Haha. They do however make the best juices/smoothies in my opinion. It's our go to place when we are being lazy in terms of chewing food or when we are simply just craving fruit.

They also have pretty cool quotes every week. This week's quote is below (followed by something I found on Instagram that I thought was funny, but also so very true.)

On that note, I should probably try and focus on my job & do these reports before my manager pulls anymore of her hair out. She's already got a little bob, she might go bald soon.

Random fact of the day - my post titles will be the name of the song I'm listening to at the time of writing.
